YOUR MAMAS NOTES: It's been widely reported by real estate gossips that in November 2007 singer/songwriter Michelle Branch sold off her big suburban house in Calabasas, CA, packed her gee-tars and headed to Nashville, the center of the country music universe. Property records reveal that back in June of 2006, Miz Branch and her much older bass playing beau Teddy Landau purchased a $290,000 condo at the Lofts at Werthan Mills in Nashville's Germantown, where Your Mama presumes that there were once a lot of German people living.

Loft living must not agree with Miz Branch and Mister Landau because a recent report in the Nashville Post reveals that the strummin' and pickin' couple scooped up a single family house in the tony and old money section of Nashville called Belle Meade. According to the Nashville Post and listing information kindly provided to Your Mama by the Tennessee Talker, Miz Branch's new corner lot digs measure 3,706 square feet and feature 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

Unfortunately for the children, Your Mama was unable to locate any interior photos of the recently built stone faced cottage that includes an attached two car garage, an eat in kitchen and a first floor master bedroom. And it's thanks to the above mentioned Tennessee Talker that we have the lovely exterior photo of Miz Branch's new Nashville nest.

We don't mean to minimize her considerable success, but to be honest children, Your Mama doesn't know the first thing about Miz Branch, her music or why she and Mister Landau would find it advantageous to relocate to Nashville. Is she a country songstress? Is he a country crooneer? Whatever the case we wish the two of them a happy home in horsey and hoity toity Belle Meade.

Belle Meade has a few historical places there is a Belle Meade antebellum mansion you can tour. I think that's the plantation where they put on the hoop skirts and parade around like scarlet. It's a bit of a curious move, most of the singers live down towards Franklin or up by the lake (like the Cash family did)And as far as she and he are concerned i have no ideal who "they" are. shg

Sure is quiet around her lately. It's kinda nice actually.

But who is Michelle Branch?

My scary and Huckabee supporting right wing Christian grandmother lives in a house like this in Cleveland.

She was on the leading edge of the young-female-singer-songwriter trend six or seven years ago. Her first record, which sounds like the soundtrack for every teen drama on the WB, produced a couple top 40 hits. Her second was still pop, but had more country-ish elements, which might hint at the possibility that she's in Nashville working as a songwriter.

Too bad the front porch looks like a lean-to shed. Otherwise, a pleasant enough house that would be at home in any upscale Southern development.

Michelle Branch released a pretty decent country/pop album with one of her backup singers as The Wreckers. I believe they had a single off it and they did tour. So she may be wanting to continue in the country vein. She and Teddy are married and have a baby girl, Owen. And she's got some rocking body art.

Horrible! Hate it! It's a corner property with minimal setback and little privacy. Plus, it looks like every other "executive" tract home in the Midwest.

She's attempting to put out a solo country record sometime in 2008.

Hey PCH,
With you on the entry roof. Must have been designed to mimick lines on the hip walls flanking front elevation. IMHO, that overhang could have been designed 20 better ways.

I am loving that beautifully trained tree (Espalier) out front on the wall. (Working on one myself..wish me luck!) I'd relocate yews at hip wall and replace with a low-and-slow-growing shrub, maybe something that flowers. No wait, I'd trick out the front landscaping entirey! Cut out more opportunities to add softness and interest.

Pretty house.

1,35,000? 1,350,000 or $135,000?

The first time I heard this loser sing she was so out of key she was from another planet. Shocking someone can make that much money with zero talent.

I have been inside this home and can attest that it is stunning and unique inside, with beautiful and tasteful design.

The roof is slate and this picture in no way does the property justice.

It is such a happy home with a beautiful creek across the street, and both the home and street are well known and admired in Nashville.

Nashville is, as cliche as it may sound, music city and many of the biggest artists from all genres of music come to its world famous recording studios. Not to mention all of the labels based there, most of which are made up of far more mainstream/rock/pop acts than country. I personaly don't give a damn about Branch or the music industry. I'm only sticking up for Nashville. P.S. the house is ugly and not admired. fake stone is stupid. When the hell are people going to realize that? Looks extra bad when pictured behind old natural stone wall.
Sincerely,
Hoity Toity the Horsey

She's half of The Wreckers Mama. Very successful country duo. And country sells the most these days so I'm sure she's got some nice $$$

I used to live in the Werthan Lofts with her, though she was never there. Awesome place, I don't know why she'd leave except for the fact that everyone could look in her windows as they walked through the halls across the courtyard...
