Jeff Lewis Is Back In The Saddle...Sort Of

Ever since the bottom fell out of the house flipping market in Los Angeles–and make no mistake my chickens, the bottom fell out of the house flipping market–obsessive/compulsive reality tee-vee star and serial renovator/flipper Jeff Lewis has flown largely under the radar.

Yes, Miss Lewis did manage to get a good price for a 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom house on N. Edgemont Drive which was listed at $1,395,000 and sold in early January of 2009 for $1,300,000 to a couple of Asian ladees. However, keep in mind that the extremely tightly wound developer paid a million bucks for the property in June of 2008 and probably spent a couple hundred grand in carrying costs, doing up the interiors and putting in a swimming pool. So, by our crude and meaningless estimations, after he paid the fat real estate fees Miss Lewis would have had barely enough left over to keep Zoila and Jenni paid let alone keep his cat in therapy.

Anyhoo, in May of 2008, Miss Lewis and his overly coiffured ex-beau and current bizness partner Ryan Brown listed a house on Valley Oak Drive with an asking price of $3,195,000. They had a devil of a time getting someone to buy the house and eventually, by late July, the asking price had been chop chop chopped down to $2,595,000. Shortly thereafter the house was marked "Looking for Backup" in the MLS and Your Mama breathed a sigh of relief that those high-larious Flipping Out freaks managed to get out of that property by the skin of their well maintained teeth.

But alas...apparently that deal did not go through because Miss Lewis is back riding the real estate rodeo and just yesterday the property appeared back on the open market with an asking price of $2,695,000.

It is our understanding from someone who will remain nameless that Miss Lewis has been shacking up in the house and will need to find a new place to live when someone finally signs on the dotted line for the 3 bedroom and 3.5 bathroom residence.

As a quick recap...records reveal that in addition to the house on N. Edgemont, Misters Lewis and Brown sold a house on Ben Lomond Place in April of 2008 for $1,250,000 (which was first listed at $1,525,000) and in May of 2008 they sold a house on N. Commonwealth Avenue to Lost actor Dominic Monaghan for $1,595,000 after being listed with an asking price of $1,795,000. Prior to that, back in 2007, records show the dysfunctional duo sold a big house on Nottingham Avenue for $4,350,000.

But what we really want to know, is when will Miss Lewis be back on the boob-toob because we love that queen's antics almost as much as we love all those tawdry bee-hawtchas on The Real Life Housewives of New York City, Orange County, Atlanta and now those tough talking beasts in New Jersey.

Always fun to hear Jeff Lewis news. He is the original highly addictive dysfunctional personality we love to love but would not want as a neighbor. The worst part of this whole housing bust, from an entertainment standpoint, is that it effectively cuts poor Jeff off at the knees. Will there be any more "Flipping Out?' I, for one, certainly hope so.

Flipping Out is filming its 3rd season right now. It is certainly coming back :)

Jeff is living in the house now for the filming of the 3rd season..wasn't there some drama with him in the LA Times getting into a fight with an ack-tressy neighbor about a retaining wall re: this property?

Jeff also sold 2 other great houses in the area...a few years ago he sold a 2 million + house to Steven Soderbergh in the Los Feliz Estates and a house on grammery plc for 2 .8 to the creator of Huff.

I love Jeff Lewis. I love his homes. I think he's awesome. Please do not call HIM miss. Ick!

Miss Lewis. Miss Lewis. Miss Lewis. Miss Lewis.

I'm not a big fan of Miss Lewis' style, but I do think he does what he does well.

I'm guessing he'll get 2.2 for this house sadly.

I really dig 'Flipping Out' and hope that Jeff and Co. will be able to keep doing what they're doing. Hilariously over the top insanity.

Plus, I think Jeff flips a decent house.

Instead of chopping the price, I wonder why he doesn't lease out the homes he's done until the market stabilizes?

him and his bf's faces look like they're wasting away. Please do not compare him to the housewives. He's disgusting. Kim from the ATL looks more natural.

Miss Lewis makes me swoon. Can't wait for him to come back.

Maybe Valley Oak fell through because it was HAUNTED by the evil old dude who built the house. Remember that?

I love Our Mama!

Mama, thank you so much for the Jeff Lewis update! I had a feeling that Valley Oak property hadn't sold yet. Cannot wait for another season of this guy. I loved the Commonwealth house--amazing.

LOL.

Came here immediately after seeing it relisted on Redfin.

Ok...back to Redfin.

BTW...house is worth 1.6 max. Even Mr. Lewis can be caught with his pants down.

'Flipping Out' needs to ditch Jeff Lewis and get Jad Najjar.

At least his flips sell.

Women (and gay men) may find him even more exotically attractive than Jeff also.

Wait a minute..........just who finds Jeff Lewis attractive? Funny, yes, interesting, yes.....but attractive........meh!

I don't think Jeff Lewis is attractive but after googling Najjar (never heard of him before), I'd sleep with Jeff AND Zoila before Najjar. B.U.T.T. U.G.L.E.E.

No competition, it's Josh Flagg.

joseph foley, corcoran, new york.
super tasty.

former Calvin Klein underpants model Michael Bergin is a real estate agent in Los Angeles...

...of course he is.

New York also has Fredrik Eklund, ex porn star. A lot of porn and escort people go into real estate, it's a very natural transition. I don't mean that snidely, either.

Madame - Curbed LA does annual "broker boys & babes" competitions. I bet Curbed NY & SF do the same.

First, I love you. I've been "stalking" for about 6 months, but never commented. It took the all-mite-T Jeff to bring me out, and now I'm here.

Love your comments, info and everything else that you do.
(Ok, e-nuf with the arse smoochin')

Thanks for keeping me up-to-date with all my celeb dig needs, even though I'm within spitting distance of the Plat-Tri

Why is the Irvine Housing Blog doing a post on a Hancock Park estate?

The house fell out of escrow bc there was a dispute with the ak-tress neighbor over the property line. Jeff was unable to convey the property per the contract bc of this, allowing the buyers to walk away from their contract.

I actually like this house quite a bit. It's the perfect size for a single stylish person. I'd buy it in a heart beat.

On a side note, Did Leo DiCap sell or rent his PCH house? It disappeared from MLS.

Jeff needs to just stay living in Valley Oak and stop this crazy flip flopping he's constantly doing. Whatever happened to him moving to Malibu in the last season? He's just a nut.

I see Leo's house is still available for rent, maybe the agent just isn't on top of things, but I'm assuming the contract expired or something, and we'll see it back active in the next few days. But perhaps its sold and she just hasn't pullled the rental listing... so many agents are jus ding batts

Jeff also did a house at 5220 Lost Bonitos Way in Los Feliz. He paid $1,048,000 for it and then sold it afte rthe redo for $2,150,000.

DiCaprio's house in Malibu is UNDER CONTRACT

Price cut down to $2,595,000 again.... he was just playing games and being stupid to list higher in a declining market.

Dropped twice, to $2,495,00 and now $2,395,000

His profits are dwindling away with holding costs
