UPDATE: Mark Zuckerberg

Yesterday morning Your Mama discussed the $7,000,000 Palo Alto, CA crib recently acquired by 26-year old Facebook founding billionaire Mark Zuckerberg.

Late last night, just before we toodled off to our 18-inch thick Tempurpedic Your Mama received an unexpected cache of listing photographs of the Palo Alto property from an anonymous source we'll call Poll Passthepictures.

The photos reveal honey-colored hardwood floors with inlaid detailing, historically appropriate sash windows painted charcoal on the exterior, deep porches, coffered ceilings, oodles of French doors with vintage–or vintage-looking–hardware, a sunny window wrapped kitchen with both marble and butcher block counter tops.

Credit where credit is due: Only after setting the listing photos and typing our short above discussion this morning did we realize that our pals over at Gawker beat us to the real estate photo punch.

I think it's a very charming house. I'd like the floor stained a darker chocolate color myself. But a quaint nice house for a clearly pretty humble guy. (Not that I know him, just from the fact he didn't buy some god awful McMansion to show his wealth, justa historic, reasonable house considering he has billions)

What a dull, boring, beige house for a young, very rich guy.

Seems like a hip, ultra cool, multilevel loft in downtown San Francisco would be more to his liking.

I agree with 10:36AM. I was thinking the same thing. It's a dull house for such a young guy. It's a nice house but it looks like something your grandma would stay in.

10:36 & 11:10

apparently you havent met any tech titans every... most are dull and boring... and not at all trendy... boring suburbia is more fitting than being a loft liver.

I think its a nice house, but does not seem secure enough for such a high profile person.

The interiors are actually more spiffy than I would have expected, misled as I was by what seems like a humdrum exterior. In my area this exact property would list around 299K but sell for about 225 in the current market.

I like it, but what do I know about what a tech titan prefers? As 11:45 suggests, Mr. Zuckerberg has never shown a penchant for cutting-edge housing.

@ 10:36 - Why would he move to San Fran & commute?

The only thing better than living close to work is having a job to commute to, but I digress.

There certainly are a lot of places to sit in that house.

It is amazing how many people can't recognize that this is basically just a crash spot for him.
This was like spending $1,000 dollars on a new Macbook for him.

My guess is he or his fiancee is mocking up a new mansion, I guarantee she is, and it is going to be out of sight.

He is young, give him time to release his inner baller.

LOVE the big master bath....
LOVE the saltwater lap pool... hate kidney shaped useless ones

This is Mark's first house, but certainly not his last. Get over it.

The furniture really clashes with itself--chairs don't match tables etc. It's bad. I bet some old people lived there, and you know how they do--they keep the old things they like and try to do half way updates that just don't work. Nice warm, cozy house though--good kitchen etc. Suspect light fixtures all over. Really, warm it up color wise, add some rugs and good furniture and it would be nice and cozy for such a large house. Sort of a Craftsman/Bungalow hybrid.

One thing that is bad and wrong, is the solid paint on the exterior. All F'd up, cuz that's a bungalow craftsman--it should be rich and multi colored. AND, Mama's decorating no-no #58 Neva Eva paint over brick and architectural details/materials.

You know, I do like the house, but really I don't know if I could by a house painted over like that. And, that brick stairway is not right. When adding on, ALWAYS blend it with the style of the house--or just don't!

Anyway, you know, I only looked at the house for like 10 seconds and went straight to typing. I don't even know if this sh*t is true--my recolections of what I say in the pics. Oh well, I'm going to de-scramble the word and hit "enter" anyway. I am sure Joe whatever his name was--oh yeah, "Average Joe" will cuss me out and call me a crack head. But you know what, this ain't the New York Times home review section, so pay me more and I will open another tab and go back and re-look at the house and see if it really has painted over brick etc. on the outside. I just don't care enough about it. But, you know what I did notice, if I can only stand to look at it for 10 seconds--it must be boring. But, for some reason I like it too--and chose to go on some diatribe about the whole thing and use the word "diatribe" and I think I only have heard it once and don't know what it actually means.

I promise, if Mama actually let's me come home for one major holiday this year I will actually use the dictionary and stare at the pictures longer for accuracy sake. Until then, you get what you get and get over it. It's just a blog and we still do better than that lab created Burkus fellow--don't we! Our mama rocks and likes it on the rocks and likes it tumbled and twisted with a splash of ... and a spritz of ... nevermind, that's dirty.

Average Joe must have gotten re-hired at Blockbuster after the recession, but too bad they are closing his store and he'll be back.

Mama's black sheep in Weho,

Still here. Oh, were we supposed to talke about Zuckerberg?

Okay, that Facebook movie was way over rated. I did like Timberlake though. He added spice. Really though, what is Hollywood coming too when that is considered a "good" movie--Award winning movie. Well, I guess when 2 out of 3 movies are cartoons or 3D, that pile of okay garbage is like something big. Damn, that's sad.

Oh well, thank God for Netflix and access to classics. Maybe I'll sign up for that.

It's a good house in a great 'hood.
Word floating around Palo Alto is, the former owner had secured a permit to tear down the house and that permit transfered to Zuck.

I agree with 5:05. This is, I'm sure, his crash pad while he waits for his hi-tech, Bill Gates-ish, mansion to be built.

Of course I would take the house in a heartbeat if I had the coin.

It's a really pretty house and the weather in Palo Alto for the most part is nice, good find :)
