UPDATE: Veronica Hearst

The scuttlebutt among the hoity toity denizens of the Upper East Side has reached a fever pitch in regards to the rumored sale of Veronica Hearst's lavish co-op at 4 East 66th Street. Someone in the know is apparently whispering similar stuff to Mister Max Abelson at the New York Observer that Your Mama heard through the gossip grapevine the other day.

Iffin the ladee who lunches needs a ridiculously discreet place to hole up and ride out the publicity, Your Mama and the Dr. Cooter would like to offer Miz Hearst our guest bedroom...because no one, and we mean no one, would ever expect Miz Hearst to be shacking up with Your Mama.

In all seriousness, if Miz Hearst does indeed sell her giant apartment we sincerely hope all her financial difficulties will be cleaned up, cleared up and a nothing but an uglee memory.

Mama it's time for some Hamptons
summer heat.......It should be heating up about now.

Mama, your offer to Ms. Hurst is most generous, but there's a problem - she'd probably enjoy it so much, she'd never want to leave :)

Mama, I agree with Anon 11:26--people like Veronica Hearst are just users, so you and Dr. Cooter would be better off asking me to stay with you for a while!!!! hahaha.

I agree with you, Mama!
I hope that her difficulties will be cleared up soon!

This stuff is getting so good that I moved Mama from my bookmark menu to my bookmark bar.....displacing Amazon.com.

Dear anonymous; I am ashamed. You get Mama's gold star.

Of course Mama is my homepage; don't go anywhere without her®

;-)

I know I won't lose any sleep over Miz Hearst's financial woes - how many of us can claim to have lived as high on the hog as she has, all for marrying a musty, moldering, malodorous, mummified multi-millionaire?

Hey Little Buddy,

That's the part I don't get, either. But I think Mister M must have figured it out, or else she wouldn't be in this sticky wicket.

Love your seven "M" description. :)

Again, so happy to see you back!

Veronica rocks! she could buy and sell L'il Sandpiper many times over. She is also very good at bridge and mah jong so you two just wallow in your jealousy.

I predicted a price to pay for being honest in the Wade string. Calculated risk well worth my transparency via "sandpiper" ID. Wouldn't take it back for second. Small price to pay. Life goes on. Trolls move on.

More importantly...Little Buddy (LGB), what's new on your shore?

Sandpiper the oracle, how quaint! What is your problem with trolls and why should we move on? This is not any one group's exclusive neighborhood, no matter how much you arrogantly think it should be. Trolls have rights and feelings too.

Internet trolls serve one purpose - to garner attention for themselves by disrupting a message board.

No, they should not have rights.

Yes, they have feelings. Ones that should be discussed on the couch of one of The Dr. Cooter's associates.

Most of the trolls commenting on this site seem to take issue with the collective knowledge of the regulars (anon and otherwise). They can't stand that intelligent, witty people able to carry on a complex conversation have been drawn to Mama's little blog. They lack those skills and have to resort to attempting to tear down others to their level.

It isn't easy but we should all ignore them.
