Monday Mish-mosh: Jennifer Aniston

photo: Blanco/X17online.com

The U.K.'s Daily Mail revealed yesterday that house hopper Jennifer Aniston and her man-beau Justin Theroux have embarked on an extensive renovation of the sprawling, low-slung A. Quincy Jones-designed residence she/they bought a few months ago for, as per property records, a purse walloping $20,970,000.

A recent aerial photograph (above) from The Daily Mail shows the approximately 8,000 square foot mid-century modern mansion and and much of the surrounding 3.25(ish) acre grounds in Los Angeles' hoity-toity Bel Air 'hood all tore up and under construction.

In the meantime, Jenny and Justin. are reportedly shacked up in a fully rehabbed 1962 Hal Leavitt-designed house in the trendy and star-stocked Trousdale Estates area of Beverly Hills (above) that was recently up for sale with an $11,500,000 asking price. The lovebirds are paying, so the stories go, around forty grand a month for their temporary crib that includes, as per listing information, 5 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms in about 6,500 square feet and state-of-the-art entertainment and home automation systems.

Oh, dearie me! I loved that courtyard with the trees. What sorrow! Why did she pay top dollar if she was just going to do a gut renovation anyway?

Jen hunny, the house won't get you back Brad!

I would trade places with her in a heart beat. To be able to move whenever the hell I want, wherever I want and pay $40k/month? AND have another $20mill mans constructed to my taste? Yes please! I can't hate on her. She's got it good, we can only dream.

So she is going to hire the same team of designers that transformed her last residence. She sold that as she wanted to move to NY, downside and simplify. Guess that whole smaller and leaner was a nice thought, but not really suitable for her highness after all.

She got the place at a discount. It was originally on the market for $29million, then got reduced to $24.9m, and she bought it for less than $21m.

I say good riddance. The old Mondrian interiors were boring.

@Candy Spelling: Um, the courtyard and trees are still in tact from the pic, so relax.

@Shopgirl: She has always said she was going to live bi-coastal, but based in LA. She made the comment about wanting to downsize, and bought her NY apartments and put her Beverly Hills manse on the market BEFORE she started dating Theroux. Not a surprise then that she's changed her mind since her circumstances have changed, and perhaps they wanted a place they picked and decorated together. She's in a live-in committed relationship, and maybe they want a family at some point. Very different reality then when she was single.

@Anonymous: Agreed about those ridiculous Mondrian interiors. I bet those were the first thing to go! Hopefully they'll put the renovated place in a magazine spread so we can all enjoy the updates.

You're right dearie, I must have mislaid my eye drops again. Thought the back was the front.

As for wanting a family, let's get real. Jenny will be kicking this one to the curb in no time, and on to the next! I give it 2 years max, and this house three!

Why is this woman so polarizing? Do you broads feel threatened by her? Who cares where she lives, or said she would live?? At least she has the smarts (remarkable for a non gay) to buy great taste.

$40K/month for a rental? That's ridiculous. They should put that money to a moving company and greasing the wheels and making their renovations quicker. http://bit.ly/IYKEoo

threatened??? LOL who could feel threatened by old bag-face??!?! she goes through men like toilet paper and spends all her money buying and selling ugly houses (did you see her last one?!? Gross) This is an overpriced box too.

Poor old girl still wants her ex so she tries to fill her life with filler to block out the emptiness. Classic psychology..

I can't believe that a whimsical "house-hopper" ( I like how similar it sounds to grasshopper) is really happy. Of course I don't know, but I would think a happy person could settle down somewhere and turn her mind to something else other than real estate. She reminds me of some acquaintances who constantly travel. It keeps them from having to adjust to each other and get to know themselves. Activity as a kind of sedative.

that's over 3 acres?? I don't even see room for a tennis court, I think sometimes they pull these acreage numbers out of their ass and I wouldn't pay over $20 million for that, its way too small!!

I think people hate her because she has great legs.......you can blame a great nose on plastic surgery, abs on hard work in the gym, but great legs are a God given gift and no amount of suction or gym work can deliver those beauties. It is great that here real estate antics keep Mama's nether regions aquiver.

7:08 "old bag face?" How old are you seven going on ten? Jennifer Anniston is a very attractive lady, and it's not even up for debate. StPaul, you are so right. She has some fine looking legs, too. No doubt about it.

Where this lady lives, who she lives with, and what she pays is no one's business but hers. I'm frankly not surprised she is doing some remodeling on the house she brought just recently. I thought she would when I saw the pictures. It needed some updating for sure. In the mean time she is living in a lovely home. Big deal.... It's her life. It's her money. It's not like she can't afford to do what she wants, because she certainly can.

Finally while many of us don't move around, some people do. Circumstances change. People change. Life changes. Maybe yours doesn't, but some people's do. It's not a big thing like it would be for most of us. She tells her assistant what she wants done, and it's done. A mover is called. They come pack up her stuff and take it to her new house and unpack it and put it up. No big deal. She drives her car over and walks in. Everything is in place, and her life goes on. As I said it's no big deal.

I think you mean Jennifer Aniston has embarked on an extensive renovation. She has the money, she is writing the checks. He is just along for the ride. If they break up tomorrow, he is out the door and it is her house, not their house.

Poor Jen, trying to fill the vacuum in her life with all this real estate madness. She can't even go out and adopt a black baby because she will be accused of copying Angelina. lol

I assume all the people here speaking on such intimate terms about her, must be close personal friends.

So my next thought is how awful that her close personal friends are so willing to betray her privacy.

You wouldn't be my friends long.

Gosh, maybe you're not really her friends either.

Now what kind of sociopath would pretend to be friends with a famous person, or feign intimate knowledge of their personal life?

I mean, that's just sick, right?

its just bizarre when the loons come out to spew their misogynistic rants all over. and year after year and they Still can't 'see' that the silly insults they throw at this 1 actress,, could just as easily be thrown at them = i doubt that the loons would hold up in any comparison. certainly not character.

after seeing these people post all over the internet (in really random unrelated sites btw) for *years with no let up= i have finally come to a rather sad conclusion that the women who are posting these emotionally immature reactions are women who have *super focused their life on children. (EG have them already or life plan is focused on having them.)

there is this underlying seething anger and their stated reasons are so illogical and silly.

Because the formula for happiness has to be the same for everyone? Is activity any more of a sedative than complacency?

Different strokes for different folks. For some people, it's settling in with the same, comfortable four walls. For others, it's seeing new sights. Or creating something new from something old. Not everyone is the same as you, dear.

You have to love the lonely old barren spinsters and divorcees who always come out to defend Jennifer Aniston. I guess they see themselves in her I guess.

Aniston can always count on them to come out and see her movies and continue to make her rich so she can keep on doing this stuff to keep her from going crazy because you know a single woman with no kids and whatever flavor of the month boy toy really need multiple huge mansions and apartments all over the place, right?

10:53 or Charlize Theron. I just got a look at her new kid that previously she had hauled around covered up. I was astonished.

3:52 I am betting you just described yourself "old barren spinster or divorcee" but you forget to add green with jealousy to your description. Now go back to your crossword puzzle book and soap operas or go sit on your front porch and watch the world pass you by hating all the people who have everything you want and won't.

Anonymous said...

3:52 Some people can control being jealous/envious of others. Some people can't. You are sure one of those who can't. No doubt about it.

What "old Mondrian" interiors"? Do any of you folks have a web site showing what this place used to look like?

"I am a guy, a young straight guy. I see how these women like yourself get psycho when they start getting older and they are all alone."

And with an attitude like that toward successful, single, independent women, you'd best settle in for the long haul into old, straight, lonely bachelorhood...I honest thought they didn't grow throwbacks like you anymore.

anyone know which street it's on? or the address?

The first link in the story above has some pictures of the interiors. Thr staging left a lot to be desired, inthought. There are many more floating around on the web. The listing was on and off for a while.

hi - does anyone know what street this is on in the trousdale estates? thanks
