Your Mama Hears...

Sometime last week (or perhaps the week before), prolific celebrity real estate gossip Mister Big Time asked his readers for a wee bit of assistance identifying the new owner of a pricey property that was recently purchased high in the Hills of Beverly and not too far from the tippy top of Tower Grove Drive.

We can't tell you where we heard this lest we be maimed and murdered by a valued and hooked up informant, but Your Mama hears that the 5,152 square foot house was snatched up by Emmy winning boob toob creator and writer Seth Macfarlane (The Family Guy, American Dad).

The seriously smart and high-lariously funny Peter Brady look alike made all sorts of headlines in early May of 2008 when after 2 and some years of negotiations he inked a sa-weet $100,000,000 deal with with the fat cats at Fox which makes him the highest paid television writer. Ever. And children, in case y'all don't know, he's 34 damn years old.

Your Mama hopes that Mister Macfarlane uses some of his major moolah to hire a nice gay decorator to do up his new digs in the manner and style befitting his vaunted station in the glitzy world of Hollywood.

Hell, for $100M. I'll laugh at Family Guy.

Berg said he got a massive mortgage. I know he won't get the $100 mil up front but surely would've got enough from it and past earnings to not have a $7m mortgage on a $10m purchase

Trust me, he's already banking on cash. As a Family Guy/American Dad fan, there is a huge following. Family Guy is already in syndication on TBS, Cartoon Network, and many others. GO SETH!!! You ROCK!!!! Kick Ass place.

Just because you have a mortgage doesn't mean you have no cash...for some people, a mortgage can be part of responsible family planning (i.e. why put all that money into a house in a down market when you could invest it aggressively and potentially out-return the interest rate on your mortgage, espescially if you have hedge fund money, which Mr. McFarlane apparently does...)...but I digress...why are the best houses always sold so quietly so us gawkers never get to eyeball the primo pics or virtual tours, LOL!!!

Good for him, didn't like Family Guy as much the first time around, but the newer episodes are hysterical and BRAVE (my wife thinks Family Guy makes South Park look TV-G sometimes with some of the un-PC jokes they have on there...)

Plus, I love any hetero man who can proudly proclaim his love for Barry Manilow as Mr. McFarlane did in a recent Family Guy episode...

Oh yeah, and calling him a Peter Brady Lookalike? For shame, mama, the guy is much better looking than Christopher Knight (not that I'm gay...not that there's anything wrong with it if I was, lol...;-)

I'd love to see some pictures. I bet the house has a great view from that pool especially

Good for him. Especially getting money out of FOX.

Not a Family Guy fan, but am happy for his success. Now, about that gay decorator...

The house next door is far better.

yeah, the mansion next door (French Château) - they made the big budget porn movie "sensual exposure" by Andrew Blake - back in the 1990's.

That house was once for sale for about $12m in the late 1990's.

i like, good size & comfortable, not an over the top palace.
looks like he'll be keeping most of his money.

Didn't Kimora Lee Simmons look at this house on her show? The one she pretended to buy but didn't?

That is some serious coin for a TV writer. Good on him.

Looks like a nice house, and the view must be killer by the way the hill just bottoms out at the corner of his pool.

Oh to be 34 with a fortune in front of you. I'm happy for him.

Given where and how this house is perched, what would happen to it in a big big rain storm?

I've been in the home on several occasions, and it is truly gorgeous inside and out and private. I believe there are only 3 bedrooms, including the master suite and two other guest bedrooms which are in another wing of the home. The views stretch from the Pacific Ocean to Sierra Towers. The north wing of the home has a huge gym. The pool is all tile. The home opens up beautifully to the views and outdoor areas. And yes, this is the house Kimora pretended to buy on her show.

Chris, Not a thing.
