Your Mama Hears...

...From a misfit hausfrau down in the hollers of rural Nashville that disco era super star Donna Summer and her musician huzband Bruce Sudano are selling their Brentwood, TN mansion. Yes puppies, it's true, the 5 time Grammy award winning singer/songwriter lives in Tennessee.

Your Mama has yet to turn up a listing for the 25+ acre property on Split Log Road, but property records show the couple scooped up the sprawling estate in October of 2003 for $2,550,000. Other tidbits of information we managed to get our grubby nubbins on indicate the house, dubbed Le Château, measures 9,847 square feet with six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. Other features include a long celebrity style driveway, a mammoth motor court and a private pond.

Sorry we don't have more information than that children, but unlike Anne Sullivan, Your Mama is not a damn miracle worker.

Anyhoo, prop records show the couple also owns property all over the U-nited States including (but not necessarily limited to) a waterfront property in Englewood, FL, a condo in Naples, FL, another property in Shelter Island, NY and a vacant parcel in Atlanta, GA.

The house was shown in a People mag article and on CBS Sunday Morning last year. Supposedly they also have a beachfront property in Florida and an apartment in NY. Ms. Summer turned 60 on New Year's Eve and the youngest daughter (Amanda Sudano of the band Johnny Swim) is now in her early 20s. Maybe the empty nesters are ready to downsize?

Tennessee isn't just country music anymore.

Summer is a prolific songwriter. She wrote or co-wrote most of her hits. While most singers only get paid when their recording of a song is used, Summer gets that check plus one everytime someone covers or samples one of her songs (like Beyonce in "Naughty Girl"). She's also written some hits for others (like Dolly Parton's "Starting Over Again").

Hot rumor in Nashville now that Oprah's building a home on 200 or so acres off Hillsboro Road, near Sneed Road. If true, she'll be walking distance to Alan Jackson's.
Maybe he'll share his 2 air strips with Miss O.
Sorry Troy N, but there's more shaking than you think down here in
Tennessee!

Summer still sells concert tickets (which makes more money than music sales these days). She played two nights at the 18,000 seat Hollywood Bowl last summer. The first night was 95% sold, the second night was completely sold out. Not bad for for someone whose last Grammy was 10 years ago.

The information about Donna Summer selling her house in Tennessee in not true. You cannot locate a listing because the house is not for sale. Moreover, most of the information about the house itself is inaccurate. You should not start rumors that are unsubstantiated or incorrect.

3:03 -

A) It's called a "pocket listing".

B) Mama isn't *starting* a rumor. Re-read the article.

C) The details about the house and what was paid in 2003 are from public records. If some details are off, then it is from inaccurate public records, not Mama. Mama clearly states the information as having come from property records.

D) Go listen to your iPod and give it a rest. May I suggest the "Crayons" album?
