Rob Pattinson Sells Celeb Pedigreed Pad to Jim Parsons

SELLER: Robert Pattinson
BUYER: Jim Parson
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $6,375,000
SIZE: 4,026 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Publicity averse Twilight heart throb Rob Pattinson has done sold his celeb-pedigreed house in the celebrity-packed pocked of L.A.'s Los Feliz area, as was first revealed by the long-legged blond at Trulia Luxe Living, for $6,375,000. The buyer? Exceedingly well-compensated* three-time Emmy-winning sitcom star Jim Parsons.

Back in mid-September 2013, Your Mama snitched to the children that Mister Pattinson, who paid $6.275 million for the property in August 2011, had "quietly but officially floated" the 1.43 acre gated estate as an off-market listing with a $6,750,000. In late October the property popped up on the open market with an asking price of—you got it—$6,750,000.

Misters Parsons and Pattinson are only the most recent in a long string of high-profile owners of the gated estate, known in some circles as the Seyler House. Designed by Stiles O. Clements and built in the 1920s for an insurance executive, the property has been owned since the early 1990s almost exclusively by a series film and television luminaries: Tim Curry, Noah Wylie, (Oscar-winning cinematographer) Robert Richardson, and director Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde, Monster-in-Law).

Listing details show the house has three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in just over 4,000 square feet with state-of-the-art systems and impressive amount of original architectural details. The high-maintenance gardens climb the steep hillside behind the house and feature a lagoon-style swimming pool and and an amphitheatre.

Some of Mister Parson's nearest neighbors include Red Hot Chili Pepper Michael Balzary—a.k.a. Flea, writer/producer Jenji Kohan (Weeds, Orange Is the New Black) Modern Family actor Jessie Tyler Ferguson—who recently shelled out almost $4.5 million for a vintage Spanish Colonial Revival-style residence formerly owned by Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, and comedic movie and television actress Kirstie Alley who—much to the chagrin of some of her neighbors, we hear—keeps a couple of monkeys in a cage on her front lawn that tend to get really loud when they're hungry.

The last we knew of Mister Pattinson he was holed up in an ugly rented macmansion in a gated community off Mulholland Drive where other high-profile residents include Gwen Stefani and soon-to-be-divorced Hilary Duff. Mister Parsons continues to own another house in Los Feliz—2,827 square feet on a quiet cul-de-sac with three bedrooms and three bathrooms—that he picked up in 2009 for $1.3 million. More on that in a minute...

*Mister Parsons (reportedly) earns $350,000 per episode for his role as socially awkward narcissist and supernerd Sheldon Cooper on enormously successful Tinseltown money maker The Big Bang Theory. His salary, along with two of his cast mates—Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, is expected to top half a million per episode for future seasons of the long-running sitcom, plus syndication profits. And anyone who knows a damn thing about sitcom incomes knows that the real money in television is in syndication profits.

Great purchase from "Moon pie", as he is affectionately known as on The Big Bang Theory. Great property, that obviously requires a great deal of upkeep. Which he can obviously afford.
Jim Parsons is one of those great actors you just can't help but love.

Can't believe that baby face of his turned 40 last year. Jim Parsons is 40 and still looks 28. Wow

Tim Curry bought this property many years ago, and he did most of the renovation then.

The biggest down-side is that the pool is located a LONG hike up the back hill. Don't forget your towel or that glass of wine!

But I guess one could just hire a pool boy......
