UPDATE: Nic Cage

Oh dear. Your Mama regrets to report that it looks like it may not be a very merry real estate Christmas for the financially embattled and beleaguered Oscar winning actor Nic Cage. After weeks wasted in escrow, his legendary estate on Copa de Oro Road in Los Angeles' posh and pricey Bel Air neighborhood–formerly owned by Tom Jones and Dean Martin–is back on the market with an asking price of $17,500,000.

A Bev Hills real estate insider we'll call Little Birdie whispered in our ear that the house has actually been in escrow a couple of times and that we should not be surprised if it goes into escrow again very, very soon.

Lawd, talk about a fire sale. Nic Cage and his real estate -- it's a live-action train wreck.

the house disturbs me. it's like monastery meets FAO Schwarz. And it's cold, foreboding. It's so NOT LA. Maybe north east college. The green bathroom is vomit inducing. And a barber chair, very funny in the follicly-challenged Mr. Cage's home.
These stars today should return to the Norma Desmond school of investing - blocks of apartment buildings and oil wells.

Donate his house?
That is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard.

In case you forgot, he needs money, not the other way around.

This estate is beautiful..... Large, spacious, secluded, manicured, etc...

You can paint bathroom-walls any color you choose, exchange carpet-flooring for hardwood or travertine & replace granite-countertops for marble.

Don't get stuck in your tunnel-vision, people !!

You're purchasing the property - Not the decor !!

I, for one, have loved this house ever since seeing it on "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" back in the 1980's when Tom Jones lived there...but I was very disappointed by the interiors when I finally caught the virtual tour...seems to me, such a legendary house in the best part of LA probably needs multi-millions in interior renovations or it would've sold eons ago, if not necessarily for Mr. Cage's desired price...

I am new here, and dont think my post got posted but everyone from work likes this site, we work with 500 people! anyway I just wanted to say I agree with donating, and I think its a smart idea, the property could be used as a school or zoned for affordable housing, its a green solution that many would agree with especially the liberal neighbors and people in the area win win !
