Vincent Gallo,

We can all take a real estate lesson from kooky actor/artist Vincent Gallo, who has become well known for buying and selling architecturally significant properties and selling them on at big profits, sorta like Ellen and Portia.

Today RADAR tells us that the stunning John Lautner house he purchased last year has been put back on the market at a tremendous profit.

Head on over to RADAR for the deets and photos of a house that has Your Mama weeping with envy.

It's very nice. I wouldn't pay $6 million for it in that zip code however, with what appears to be a rather limited amount of square footage and property.

I've been to this house. Trust me...it's worth $6 million. It is smaller than most homes in this price range, and the lot is TINY, but this house is so sick that it is just ridiculous. It just molds itself into it's site, and I like the way main house and guest house are under one roof. Mama is not the only one weeping with envy. I have been for a long time!

P.S.
This house has been in YSL ads lately. Also, Gallo is a lucky shit. He's owned another Lautner before and also a unit in one of the Meier towers in Manhattan.

I'm anonymous #2

If I would've read the radar link first I wouldn't have mentioned the Meier thing. But after reading it, I have to say that I think that he bought the home before July.

This house will be sold very quickly. There are waiting lists with realtors for Lautners. Just not offensively priced Lautners, like the Arquette lair in Malibu.

Whomever buys it at that price better plan on actually living there for awhile (unlike Gallo) because he's milking it for all the profit it's worth for some time to come.

It's an amazing house - it's been on the mls for a few days now ... I disagree that it will sell super quickly, It will sell but it will only appeal to a small percentage of people - for all those who love it, many will hate it & also, the Lautner in Malibu thats for sale really isn't overpriced - The land alone is worth at least $20 million ... Anyway, he has great taste in real estate & has been my neighbour on both coasts so hopefully I'm not far behind him!

The fact that that tiny ass piece of land on carbon beach is worth $20 million is whacko. No, it's whacko and bonkers. I know that is what people percieve as it's worth, and I find that ridiculous. But the house is pretty schnazzy.

It is ridiculous the price of land on Carbon but thats just the way it is. For many of the residents though, price really isn't an issue ...

I totally agree with you now, sierra. It's just. for that amount I'd rather have a Neutra in Bel Air, a little Malibu shack, and and an apartment at 40 Mercer in Manhattan. And the reality is that for $33 million, I could, and I'd still have money left. Funny, to me.

Zillow estimates this homes worth as $6,310,063 - $8,062,858.

Then again, Zillow sucks.
