Weekend Wrap Up

1.
Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Bill Dedman continues with more riveting and revealing information about the reclusive centenarian heiress Huguette Clark.

2.
A media mogul by the name of John Malone has dropped a staggering amount of money for a massive New Mexico ranch with 290,100 contiguous acres. The Bell Ranch, so sprawling it has its own damn zip code, was first listed way back in 2007 with an asking price of $115,000,000 but was later reduced to $83,000,000.

The property includes a 10,000 square foot 1930s hacienda style case with 8 bedrooms and commercially equipped kitchen, a 2,900 square foot guest house, a separate "casino" for parties and other "rollicking good times," private airfield, 13 miles of frontage on the Canadian River.

3.
It seems that Angeleños think that Chicago's soon to be former favorite citizen Oprah Winfrey might be moving to Tinseltown where her new television station (OWN) is headquartered and that New Yorkers think that she might be in the market for a Manhattan pied a terre since The Bigt O's b.f.f. Gayle King was spotted touring a couple of high priced pied a terre on Park Avenue.

4.
Courtney Love has gone and leased actress/model Milla Jovovich's West Village townhouse. She's made comments that she might be interested in buying the place, but we shall see. Miz Love is a mercurial and peripatetic type who could decide tomorrow that she wants to become a silent monk in dictatorially ravaged Zimbabwe.

5.
Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen (I hate being famous) Stewart take their on the down low relationship up to a secluded hideaway above Los Angeles's Stone Canyon Reservoir in Bel Air.

83 million dollars???? You would have thought they bought NYC's Central Park or something but it's some sort of huge ranch in New Mexico? Oooookay. Like Your Mama says, who am I to understand the ways of the wealthy

Huguette Clark absolutely fascinates me...

I cannot wait to see how this all eventually plays out. Something is definitely rotten in the state of Denmark and it's only a matter of time until the truth comes to light (albeit probably not as lurid as wearing Kleenex boxes as slippers).

I hope Milla got a HUGE security deposit. Courtney loves still owes a buddy of mine money from back in her stripper days......

I do hope the Huguette Clark affair develops along the lines of the Brooke Astor affair. That was so very entertaining. (And what purpose do the superrich serve, if not to entertain us peons?). But where is the relative, close or distant, to start the ball rolling, so to speak, like Astor's grandson did? Somebody will have to challenge the CPA and the attorney. Who will that be?

Nice timing for a "fascinating" story like this to show up all over the mainstream media outlets completely out of the blue after ALL this time, hmmmm?....wackjob billionairess with thousand acre estates that haven't been lived in since 1952 filled up the rafters with thousands of dusty dirty dollies....really interesting that during the greatest economic downturn since the Depression, with so much unprecedented misery going on, that only NOW we would learn about Ms. Clark and her darkly decadent "empty nests" rotting away in the sun and maintained by the peasantry through the decades(!) while people are starving to death on the blasted and filthy streets of an utterly collapsing America........how deliciously Antionette-like!... what a nice way to start The New Class War and declare the martial law we've so desperately been craving so we can implement feudalism all over again!

Only the manager's special left for YOU, serfs!

Mama you should be the one to file the petition with Adult Protective Services - which will allow the State of NY to investigate Huguette Clark and unravel the mystery behind it all (although the mystery isn't a mystery at all - it's just what happens with money - wealth makes people crazy).
