The Michael Jackson Mansion Goes Back on the Block

Buckle your safety belts butter beans and prepare for a shit storm of publicity because the Los Angeles mansion where Michael Jackson met his untimely death in June of 2009 is back on the market with an asking price of $28,995,000.

The Richard Landry designed dwelling on N. Carolwood Drive in the hoity-toity Holmby Hills area contains a total of 7 bedrooms, 7 garage spaces, 12 fireplaces, and an unlucky 13 poopers. When our seriously superstitious house gurl Svetlana heard there were 13 terlits in the house she dropped to the floor, flailed and wailed around a bit screaming about how "Michael should have known. He should have known..."

The 17,171 square foot faux French chateau sits on a 1.26 acre lot according to listing information and is owned by Roxanne Guez and her controversial clothing manufacturing mogul huzband Hubert who is the current CEO of that upsetting Ed Hardy brand.

Your Mama has written about and dissed on the palatial pile a thousand time before so there's no need for us to rehash the hashed. However, iffin any of the children missed any of our previous discussions some of them are here, here, and here.

Poor Svetlana; c'mon, Mama, let her have one of your nerve pills, just this once.

Too, too funny!

I have come to the belief that Richard Landry must have some kind of astigmatism or something; every time I look at one of his designs, it leaves me feeling, "...something's just a little off here..."

Although he's fair-to-middling on reproducing architectural details that reference different eras, his scale & proportion always seem off –––– sometimes streets away from the golden mean.

When is Svetlana going to have her own damn blog, Mama? We are waiting impatiently!!!!! Thanks for my first good laugh of the day.

The picture doesn't show it but I presume everybody knows this house sits right next to Sunset Blvd. with all its traffic.

So true about Sunset. That's Monovale Drive on the left of the pic; Sunset is out-of-view on the right side of the pic. Surely sound-proof inside, but when on the lawn, around the pool, etc...the noise and exhaust from never-ending Sunset traffic!:(
Best pic of the house that I have seen.

I hear it is now haunted by MJ's ghost, that is why they can't sell it,

Well, I just watched the film "This is It" on TV and found it fascinating. This pathetic, pale, and remarkably talented singer and dancer spent so much time pelvic thrusting his empty palm in scene after scene. I can only think how much better off he would have been if he had just gotten laid. The spectacle of the sets he had planned for the London shows is in harmony with the expansive but somehow empty Landry house. The initial "wow" response to this type of residential architecture just cannot endure. After a few months living in this, or even the Gretzky/Landry house must be like riding "It's a Small World" for the twenty-third time.
