UPDATE: Candy Spelling

Looks like Your Mama might have received some not quite correct information about the real estate doings of The Widow Spelling.

Just yesterday we discussed a rumor circulating on real estate gossip grapevine that Miz Spelling had backed out of her $47,000,000 contract to purchase the top two floors of a yet to be completed luxury high rise in Century City, CA.

Well, Your Mama just received a very nice email from Miz Spelling's publicist who kindly informed us that Miz Spelling's plans to purchase and move to the (approximately) 16,000 square foot doo-plex atop The Century building have not changed since it was first announced.

Have we got that children?

  1. I was a bit surprised to hear that she wasn't.

It's a very good decision for her. Unload that hideous monstrosity of a house and get into a secured condo that while still being monsterous is much more managable.

  2. Got that loud and clear Mama!

And, secretly thrilled for you that Candy's publicist obviously reads your fabulous blog :)

  4. Good grief. Ms. Candy actually wants the world to be clear that her conspicuous consumption is not to be mistaken, nor underestimated. Well, I got the message, but if it was supposed to impress me, it fell a bit short. Meanwhile, back in the real world..

  6. I hope that you only agreed to print a retraction in exchange for future celebrity real estate insider information?

Candy should use the PR to try to re-negotiate her contract and save a few million. Her presence will help the developer sell units and they'll need all the help they can get. She should be adequately compensated for such.

  7. Wow, congratulations Mama, it seems that your blog is really huge now! Well deserved. As for Candy, I think that she is making a great decision and that a mansion in the sky is befitting of her. I was surprised to hear that she was no longer buying it but now I'm happy to hear she still is. I wish her much happiness there and hope whomever buys her house preserves it the way Aaron Spelling intended it.

  10. I would die if I got an e-mail from Candy!!!

I love how downsizing is 16,000 s.f. Amazing. This is the largest apt I've heard of, bigger than Madge's on CPW or Mariah's on Franklin St.

  11. It is huge, Donald Trumps penthouse atop Trump Chicago is like 15k sq ft, get this.... ALL ON ONE FLOOR! How sprawling must that be? Atleast Candy has the duplex making it more like a house.

  15. Mama, it was not Candee's publicist. It was Josh Flagg trying to start trouble in the ether of LA real estate. Candee's publicist speaks no english. It is a security thang.

  18. WahlbergActor Mark Wahlberg sold his Beverly Hills home for almost $14 million in an all-cash deal that breezed through escrow in just 10 days. For details, see Hot Property.

do you think he sold it back to himself ?

to keep up the property value ?

  21. Candy is a tried old hag who hates her own daughter. Rich people who needs them. BTW Who need a 16000 sq ft condo? Some mansions in BH arent that big. This is a gross display of wealth when people are losing their jobs and cant afford to feed their families. Yikes!

  22. After reading some of these comments, it's obvious why she spends $$$$ on 24/7 security.
