PAH ! It's nothing other than a well used scam by local REA's to charge the seller for fees, web listings, advertising costs and the like [where in most other normal countries these costs are the agents, not the sellers].<br />One fine example: once when viewing a Kohimarama [next to Herne Bay] waterfront property, the long legged bweetch of a part time housewife/part time agent said to me when I asked what the price was, that she couldn't say, as the seller was seeking buyer interest. Asking the agent again, if perhaps she could give me an idea of expected price, she simply batted a botoxed eyelid and said, you tell me how much you have and I will tell you if you can afford it. I could have slapped the beetch, but simply replied, if this were my house and you were the agent, I would sack you on the spot. <br />I then left NZ and bought in victorian terrace house in London.<br />Poor little NZ'ers, will always be wrapped up in their provinciality and small minded thinking.
