Fox News Anchor Shepard Smith Lists N.Y.C. Condo Crib

SELLER: Shepard Smith
LOCATION: New York City, NY
PRICE: $4,000,000
SIZE: 2,341 square feet, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Most lefty liberal types probably don't know who the hell he is, but for regular Fox News watchers Shepard Smith is a beloved household name who every afternoon and early evening during the week delivers the news (and the "news") to millions upon millions of households.

Since joining Fox News Channel at its inception in the mid-1990s Shepard Smith–along with his signature high-arched eyebrows–has become one of the most highly rated and most watched news anchors on the boob-toob. He currently helms the nightly news program Fox Report with Shepard Smith and hosts the live afternoon broadcast of the news/talk program Studio B with Shepard Smith.

Mister Smith, who was once married but ranked sixth on Out magazine's 2011 annual list of the 50 most powerful gays and lesbians even though he's never publicly stated he's a homosexual, signed a three year contract with Fox in 2007 reportedly worth between seven and eight million clams a year. In October 2010 he re-signed another three year contract for an unknown amount of money that Your Mama would bet our long-bodied bitches Linda and Beverly is considerably more than seven or eight million bucks a year.

This new (and likely very lucrative) contract may or may not have something to do with Mister Smith recently heaving his New York City condominium on the market with an asking price of $4,000,000.

Property records show Mister Smith acquired his 6-room Greenwich Village condo in May 2004 for $1,875,000 and listing information indicates the apartment measures 2,341 square feet, includes 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and carries monthly maintenance/taxes/common charges that total a not-inconsiderable $3,331 per month.

The main living area, as per listing information, comprises a separate dining room and a south facing great room that's open to the cook-friendly kitchen outfitted with custom cabinets and a full suite of high-grade commercial-style appliances. Mister Smith's condo, which listing information calls "Triple Mint," includes a man-sized master suite with custom closets and renovated bathroom with jetted tub and separate steam shower.

The low-floor apartment has lofty 14-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, hand finished Venetian plaster walls, washer/dryer, and an in-wall Crestron home automation system that controls the custom lighting set up, audio-visual equipment, climate settings, and window shades that open and close automatically at the touch of a button.

The Greenwich is a full-service pre-war building centrally situated on a busy commercial corner of the West Village and offers residents and their guests a landscaped roof deck with gas grill, fitness facility, and children' playroom.

Other notable residents of the upscale building include iconic American fashion designer Michael Kors who moonlights as a judge and sassy phrase turner on Project Runway. Mister Kors and his longtime man-boo (and new husband) Lance Le Pere bought their terraced 2,224 square foot high floor unit in November 2005 for $3,995,000 from lefty liberal pundit Jon Stewart. The fashionistas subsequently had the condo worked over by award-winning architect-trained interior designer Glenn Gissler. One floor up from the Misters Kors and LePere is a 2,861 square foot penthouse pad with 1,095 square foot private roof terrace that nerdy tech tycoon turned voracious contemporary art collector and philanthropist Peter Norton bought in late 2007 for $6,800,000.

Are you sure? What red blooded American gay guy would have 'Bear Alerts'?

Oh, will all you Tea Party people look at that. Mama talked about a Fox News anchor and didn't point out what a moron he is or make any sort of mention about the not exactly fair and balanced approach to the news Fox is known for.

I wonder why?

Could it be that Shep Smith isn't a moronic buffoon like some of the other arch conservative pundits (i.e. Beck and Limbaugh) that Mama has talked about in the past and then gotten all sorts of comments about how s/he carries water for the liberals and should stick to real estate instead of politics?

Mama doesn't just poke fun of conservatives. I think s/he likes to jab at fucktards in general regardless of political leanings.

If that "Penthouse Apartment" featured on Gissler's website is Kors', then it is about as boring and cookie-cutter as Kors' fashions. It looks like something out of the Design Within Reach catalog, but the carerra marble bahhhhhhh-th is divine.

@ anon 10AM: I think anyone who works for or watches "news" via any of the corporate-owned outlets is a fucktard, but that's just me.

Those monthly common charges are fierce.

Could Shep be moving to the firehouse with Anderson???

Jon Stewart is a comedian. The fact that he skewers Fox News is because they are so wrong a lot of the time it's really, really funny. BTW: he's been well known to clobber the "liberals" when the screw the pooch.

Worse yet, Jon Stewart is really highly intelligent as you would discover if you listened to his interviews.

Shep draws viewers despite the fact that he works for Fox News, not because of it, which is saying something. Fox news in general chafes against my grain in a major way. I haven't watched Shep in awhile, but the times I have, I didn't observe him leaning inordinately conservative or liberal, and it was a refreshing surprise. He always came across as genuine, level headed, pragmatic, and honest, i.e. (fair and balanced) with no agenda. Gotta hand it to him.

As a "lefty liberal type", I would like to say that I like Shepard Smith and think he is the only "fair and balanced" person on that network and actually is intelligent and has a brain.

I am still trying to figure out how and why he is still there.

What does Shep’s personal sexual preference have to do with listing his condo??
This article reads like something out of the National Inquirer not ‘Real Estate Law’. Not very intellectual. Mama’s notes?, boob tube? if your liberal you don’t know who the hell Shepard Smith is??

I think Mama's hit it on the head ––– with a new contract, it's probably time to move on up for Shep.

Even before consolidating under the FOX banner, Channel 5 in the New York market never had a reputation that rose above The Star, news-wise, and couldn't touch the Big Three networks in their heyday (Paley, et al) of television news journalism, long gone. While we were looking the other way, the news divisions that were long on integrity and short on profits (and proudly so) got sacrificed to the almighty dollar.

But perusing the Out Top 50 list, I was pleased to see that I've been lucky enough to have worked, over the course of my career, with at least five of the illustrious members on this year's list.

ok the word "NEWS" in Fox News is subjective...kind of like the National Inquirer not so much a newspaper. But Shepard Smith is cute as pie, I wish he would move to the real news of CNN!

I hesitate to confess that I sometimes judge people at once by their looks and vibes, although there is some evidence (from research psychologists) that one's first impression is usually more accurate than a subsequent "considered" opinion. Anyhoo the first time I saw Shep on the tube he
immediately reminded me of a not very bright kid I once knew in High School. There is something sorta dumb and "cream-puffy" about him. I have never liked Shep much since.

@2:10, Mama has always endeavored to make reading this blog a fun as well as informative experience, frequently writing in a humorous vein, sometimes with a chiding edge to it.. always in good fun. Chill and enjoy the ride or you're missing the point.

That guy gives me the creeps for some reason. Can't explain it. Not just Fox News - something more. Possibly the eyes. does he even qualify for rich and famous anyway?

Seriously, I've seen Shepard Smith in person, and trust me on this. He likes botox more than Madonna. However, forgt the botox. Shep's a really hellva nice and friendly guy, and actually his shows on Fox are different in a good sort of way. Very entertaining, and I'd rather watch him than alot of the others on any network.

Hey Anon 10:00, jeez dude, take the nice pills the doctor gave you and get a sense of humor and a life. Not everything warrants a snide comment, slam, or criticism and not everything HAS to be political. We're talking condos here. Condos. Let's have a little fun and chill out without the negativity. Better in, bitter out.

8:32PM. Agreed. Never seen such bitterness over a column a condo for sale. 10:00 sure needs to take chill pill. Thank goodness I don't have to be around people so negative and jealous. Pretty funny isn't it? Now, back to condos. Sounds like Shep is doing quite well. Like this condo, and I bet it sells quickly.

take the nice pills? wow.

this coming from someone whose probably more than happy to say all sorts of nasty things about obama.

shepard seems like a port in a storm, if you know what I mean.

Liberals don't know who Shep is?? This Liberal sure does! He's my only source for fair and balanced over at Faux when I accidentally land on that channel (when dog sits on remote or when wingnut relatives visit). Otherwise, I try to get my news from the interwebs. All of that screaming from both sides makes my tummy turn.

Shep rocks!!!!! I just love his way of presenting the stuff on fox!!!

Anonymous said...

oh PU-LEEZE! all you haters need to tune in to Fox an hour before Shep and check out Bret Baier, who has the best news program on TV, cable or network, bar none.

sure Fox has its screamers, but so has MSNBC. and do you mean to compare the consummate professional Bill O'Reilly with the barely literate Al Sharpton or the truly mental Ed Schultz? you REALLY wanna go there?

Everyone is up in arms about Shepard Smith loosing lot of weight - have any of you thought about - when he went to Japan after the earthquake - he was exposed to lot of radiation. Whether he is gay or straight that is his business - I wish him a speedy recovery. Enjoy him on Fox News - he is up there with Bill O'Reilly and Bret Baier and all other Fox News people.

Sounds like you've got some followers who can't tell the difference between a news show, an opinion show and a panel representing various points of view.
