To date, she appears to have sold nothing that she has attempted to sell, most obviously the Tower Hill estate which she has had listed on and off for years. Everyone who has any relationship with real estate in the Hamptons knows that listed or not it's available at the right price, so I suppose she hopes that a listing may reach a wider audience of non-Hamptonites.

Yeah, she has some nice houses, and since she has owned Tower Hill forever, she could in fact sell that at a fire sale and make out very well. That is unless she has used that as collateral to buy the other properties, which is something I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that she did. . .Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-34640698258135273132010-07-29T16:31:51.108-07:002010-07-29T16:31:51.108-07:00She HAS done well with her portfolio, that's f...She HAS done well with her portfolio, that's for sure!Jeannifiednoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-68540895744241387362010-07-29T11:29:54.633-07:002010-07-29T11:29:54.633-07:00Since she's such a wingnut, she should hang on...Since she's such a wingnut, she should hang on to that place. That lot, not lot with new house, sold in the range of 7m back in the '06, '07 period. Since then, a house was built by the people who bought the lot. They rented it in about a week this Spring for July and August at about 250g. . . Which leads me to a slightly off topic question. Why do prime houses in the Hamptons rent for so much more than prime Malibu? This info is also by way of saying that though Christie's pricing is as extremely ambitious as always, it may not be that far off the mark. We shall see. A lot depends on what condition the house is in. I am not so sure this place has been renovated, but I may be wrong.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-50001412459100724892010-07-29T10:22:10.758-07:002010-07-29T10:22:10.758-07:00that elliman site is constantly crashing my laptop...that elliman site is constantly crashing my laptop......so frustrating not to see how Dolly and Raphael are doing..........Little Edienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-36374990632671208562010-07-28T20:44:36.067-07:002010-07-28T20:44:36.067-07:00Nearly $16-million for 5500sf North of the Highway...Nearly $16-million for 5500sf North of the Highway? Who knows.... For sure though, I do not think the trip was for a view of the water!
The property has deinitiely been improved in the past few years; was so unkept looking before. I've never understood why CB paid nearly $10M for the verrry plain red shingled house next door that always appears abandoned; must be for the property itself. No activity (of the remodeling kind) ever seems to be occuring. These homes are on Fahys Road if anyone wants a Bing Maps Birdseye look for perspective; the realtor photos certainly "enhance" the reality, but that's good photography!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-58084905842935492142010-07-28T14:25:56.031-07:002010-07-28T14:25:56.031-07:00There will always be someone with enough money to ...There will always be someone with enough money to buy in the Hamptons, regardless of price or market, as there has been since the 17th century Dutch dangled some pretty trinkets in front of the natives & kindly encouraged them to shove off.

I suspect that the ex is indeed responsible for much of the recent work done on the house; the Greek Revival captain's style house is quite common for the area, known for its whaling industry over a century ago. But what Mr. Cook has executed, with the incoherent rear façade, for example, is almost as vulgar as his personal shenanigans.

I'm assuming that the property to the left (south) of this one is hers as well; I'd much prefer it's smaller footprint as it represents an opportunity to start with a virtually blank canvas; it appears that its has been largely untouched for generations.

Besides, between the conveniently located oceanfront hovel to the centrally located Tower Hill, she'd still have enough of either end of the Hamptons spectrum whilst ridding herself of any trace of the ex.

Good riddance to old trash & hello hard cash (after a price cut or two, perhaps).
