Almost 100 years ago, Jewish women adopted and adapted mah jongg. They created the National Mah Jongg League, which publishes an annually changing card of game-winning combinations, and the League raises tzedakah (charity).

Almost five years ago, the Rabbi adopted and adapted feng shui, combining the Chinese concept of chi (energy and it's movement) and the Jewish concept of chai (life and especially communal life). Judaism shuns solitary existence and encourages community involvement; some prayers and public reading of the Torah are only recited when at least ten adults are present.

The Rabbi's feng shui endorses communities that encourage neighborly interaction, through sidewalks, front porches, small business districts, and communal outdoor space, in communities of individually owned detached homes, neighborhoods of townhomes, and in public housing developments, and communal lobbies, game rooms, and restaurants within large apartment buildings.

Thank you, JGV, for the fabulous New Classics book link! The Rabbi certifies the Zanuck home as kosher and feng shui friendly: It aligns with a northern central court in the front and a southern pool and pergola in the rear, the latter of which could easily function as a sukkah for one week every autumn! The plan also appears to include a north-south aligned tennis court; however, the Rabbi is viewing the home on her tiny iPhone screen and therefore cannot be certain. The primary floor has superb circular chi movement, and the second level could easily be transformed into four corner en-suite chambers. Beverly Park does not embrace the Rabbi's feng shui concepts; nevertheless, it saddens the Rabbi that the former Zanuck home will be raised.

And Mama and her Kinderlach are the best!

Rabbi Hedda LaCasa
Invites complimentary feng shui analysesAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-75462378885369828802013-10-10T09:21:18.983-07:002013-10-10T09:21:18.983-07:00Mama did Barry Bonds house sell yet?Mama did Barry Bonds house sell yet?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-38073816452338824162013-10-10T00:40:14.567-07:002013-10-10T00:40:14.567-07:00Floorplan of the Zanuck Residence is available on ...Floorplan of the Zanuck Residence is available on google books preview:

http://books.google.nl/books?id=ckBgP6SyDkMC&printsec=frontcover&dq=appleton&hl=nl&sa=X&ei=TuYEUuWmD4fvswbF7oGwCw&ved=0CG4Q6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=appleton&f=false

Pretty spectacularJGVnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-81873242212236908202013-10-10T00:17:30.530-07:002013-10-10T00:17:30.530-07:00Beverly park is garbage.
