Since by my count he has at least three NYC properties, I wonder where he will live while he is on Broadway in How To Succeed..., assuming the musical runs for more than a few weeks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-75086921201604198952011-02-07T16:36:48.608-08:002011-02-07T16:36:48.608-08:00Again with the dog whistle analogy...
Both Runnin...Again with the dog whistle analogy...

Both Running Wilde & Parks and Recreation are, IMHO, two of the most seriously unfunny shows on TV today.

Shame, really; I believe Ms. Poehler is one of the most gifted comediennes around ––– the material, however? Not even her impeccable comic timing can save it.

As for her partner? Well, there's that damn dog whistle ––– never found him the least bit funny, although he came close on Arrested Development. Shows what can happen to iffy material in some hands... for me he just brings to mind the quote attributed to Lillian Gish when asked why she didn't do more comedy: "Me? I'm about as funny as a baby's cry for help..."

Too bad about Running Wilde, though; if for no other reason that since the recent mismanagement of the Sands Point Park & Preserve (by the nepotistic "Friends" of said institution), it's been nearly impossible to get near the fabulous Hempstead House, built by Gould & bought by Guggenheim, where it was filmed. Rumor has it funds to restore the seawall were diverted to provide things like parking amenities for film crews.lil' gay boyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10115496241247504856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-68633199060141367762011-02-07T12:21:52.450-08:002011-02-07T12:21:52.450-08:00Running Wilde wasn't spectacularly unfunny. The interactions between Will Arnett and Peter Serafinowicz were almost always hilarious. It was just brought down by boring Keri Russell and the annoyingly precocious daughter. If it was just about two dysfunctional rich kids blowing money on vodka cellars it would have been a not-miss show.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-51005417100218632202011-02-07T10:13:06.634-08:002011-02-07T10:13:06.634-08:00Meant to post the above comment under the weekend ...Meant to post the above comment under the weekend wrap up. sorry.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7179311615101890268.post-86347460848096842012011-02-07T10:11:21.464-08:002011-02-07T10:11:21.464-08:00At this point, we have no idea where the "tru...At this point, we have no idea where the "truth' lies in the Dakota business.
It certainly is ironic that this building, bastion of monied lefties, is now being accused of racism. Remember, it was ground zero for what came to be dubbed "radical chic," based on the salon evenings that Leonard Bernstein and his wife put together to introduce their friends to members of the Black Panthers.
In recent times, I believe the Board's ideal buyer profile has more to do with the multiples of sale price the buyer has in liquid assets than anything else. It's notoriously difficult to buy there, and hence very difficult to sell as well. I understand that many agents advise against looking/offering because generally it's a complete waste of everyone's time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
