Your Mama Hears...

...that large lipped house flipper Jeff Lewis is on the move. The anal retentive reality television rehabber had been shacked up in his Los Feliz redo on Ben Lomond Place. However, a certain someone whispered in our ear that Mister Lewis will soon be parking his Range Rover in the carport at his flip on N. Commonwealth Avenue, also in Los Feliz.

Both overhauls lingered and languished on the market in late 2007 but disappeared from the MLS around Christmas time. Your Mama expects both will soon come back on the market re-priced for a less electric market.

Mama,
You wore us out playing last night. We're hungry and banging our spoons on the table for a nice hot breakfast!

(No Offense, Uncle Jeff. xxoo)

Good morning Mama dear. Could you please dig into the back of your cupboard and find some scraps or crumbs of pre-war New York, or even faux pre-war? The celebrities can be business stars instead of big screen stars. Thank you Mama. That glass walled thing that Oprah's friend is buying is nice, but no nooks and crannies. I know most of the chilruns take after you, Mama, and love open floor glass palaces, but I just love the winding back halls and "wasted space be-damned" of the upstair-downstairs configurations of those old places. Are there any of them left anymore?

This psycho is still around?

Granted, he uses higher end materials in his flips than others, but with his weird-ass touchy-feely New Age approach (house "cleasing", smudging, and acupuncture for his cat?), he's just too high maintenance to ever do a serious business deal with.

The funny thing is he's surrounded himself with a wacky entourage (no wonder his ex became his ex, but they're still in business together), they're the kind of working group that makes some sort of strange family that may just be off-kilter enough to weather the coming real estate crash.

If I was moving to LA I would consider buying one of his houses just because you know he does it right, how many people get ripped off by contractors and renovators? At least it's all done right for you,yes he's nuts but so long as I was just buying from him who cares?

I would hope that his TV persona is only an act for his irritating but nonetheless addictive "reality" show. Because otherwise, making an offer on one of his properties would likely drive me to swallow one of Mama's bottle of nerve pills and wash it down with a dirty martini... again. Still, you have to feel a bit sorry for him - if only because it would bother the shit out of him to know ANYONE felt sorry for him.

Jeff Lewis is delightful. He seems to be a good soul. I'll take his drama any day. He's a keeper and hope to see more of him.
