UPDATE: Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne

BUYERS: Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne
LOCATION: Dixon Trail Road, Hidden Hills, CA
PRICE: $12,388,500
SIZE: 2.35 acres, 10,930 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: The Osbournes have been on a buying and selling frenzy of late having sold their Doheny Road mansion in Beverly Hills to bun in the oven songbird Christina Aguillera and her music executive huzband Jordan Bratman. This is, of course, the house that was so prominently featured on the Osbourne's ridiculously banal reality show (sorry folks, but Your Mama and the Dr. Cooter thought that show was a sleeper).

The Osbournes have also recently purchased an enviable house in the Hollywood Hills for their oldest progeny Aimee, they appear to be in the process of unloading one of their two ocean front properties in Malee-boo (on the market at $10,995,000, see below), and they've purchased a spread in quasi rural Hidden Hills, where reports have them living now that they've vacated the Bev Hills house.
Of course, this incomplete list does not take into account their holdings in Britain, which includes a massive estate in Buckinghamshire, or any houses or condos they may or may not have purchased for their other children, the deliciously rebellious Kelly, and the newly somewhat svelte Jack.

Your Mama still thinks it's strange that fame hungry Sharon moved her doddering rock star huzband out to sleepy and uber-suburban Hidden Hills. Yes children, we know that Hidden Hills is full of celebrities living in huge houses in gated communities and all that crap, but somehow it just seems odd to think of glamour puss Sharon and the too damaged to be dangerous Ozzy roaming the streets of Hidden Hills in a pimped out Mercedes.

Anyhoo, the new Osbourne mansion on Dixon Trail Road sits towards the end of a cul-de-sac and will provide the couple with much needed peace, quiet and privacy. No more tour buses full of Belgian tourists buzzing the buzzer and trying to climb over the security wall like they did on Doheny Road.

Property records indicate that house measures in at a whopping 10,930 square feet with 6 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms and photos reveal that the exterior articulations too closely reference barn architecture for our liking. Your Mama presumes the house comes with all the necessary suburban celebrity mansion necessities including an overly scaled entrance hall with a sweeping staircase, large living room, banquet sized dining room, massive eat in kitchen with double ovens and all the bells and whistles, wood paneled library, office, den, game room, dual master baths, master suite with sitting room, staff quarters, and of course, a wine cellar. However, since the house appears never to have been on the open market we can not confirm it's luxe amenities.

The property features a detached staff unit or guest quarters, which may come in handy as the Osbournes get old and require live in assistance to help them into the shower and to pick up all the doggy doo the family's many itty bitty dogs are famous for leaving around the house.

Whatever the reasons for the Osbournes moving to Hidden Hills, Your Mama wishes them a happy home free of paparazzi at the front gate and a slew of camera wielding fanatics waiting for them to pull out of the driveway.

Reasons are beside the point with some celebrities. This is strange enough to be typical Osbourne. Thanks to both the Osbournes and Britney for at least providing something other than a de rigeur Tuscan villa to look at.

Mama

Seeing as you're meticulous in your facts it's Doheny Road ... not 'N. Doheny Road' or 'N. Doheny Drive' ... I know you already know this so maybe the coffee just wasn't strong enough this morning ...

As for the house, I kinda like it ... looks like something you'd find in Sagaponack / Amagansett etc..

All their U.S properties can't compare to their rural estate in Buckinghamshire - it's stunning & was also for sale not that long ago following the fire they had ... wasn't advertised though but I know they were looking for a new rural estate outside London.

I was thinking the same thing as anon @ 7:58. The house has a bit of a barn look, but not really "country". I think it would fit in great in the Hamptons. As for Hidden Hills, it seems anything can be built here, no matter what it looks like, as long as it is > 10,000 sq ft.

Oh dear. Too many damned Dohenys to keep it all sorted out in our gin soaked mind. Thanks for the correction dolly.

It needs a shady spot by the pool and a barrier between the lawn and the parking area. For 10 million I wouldn't want to be looking at the staff's civics and F-150s. And what would keep the coyotes out?

I'm killing a bit of time this morning before my "friend" arrives to schelpp me & the Tumi down to LAX, so I'll spare everyone my normal "script"... let me just concur with Mama, that Sharon & Ozzy in Hidden Hills or Cala-bass-ASS (either or) makes no sense. Unless they're planning a new version of The Simple Life. Come to think of it, this could be the perfect set for the film version of Green Acres!!! Caio for now -

They will soon be bored silly with this house and the location. Any predictions how long before the For Sale sign goes up?

Bet they will miss the 2-3 minute Police Response Time they had in Beverly Hills.......

If it's so busy by their old house, why did Christina buy it? Doesn't she want privacy even more than they do?

I THINK IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE...

they are getting older, no need for bev hills..."DOHENY"

Think about it...

The tour busses are surely what drove them to the "hidden" hills.

Sharon was spotted last week at the pet store, buying more animals for the large yard!!

hmmm...

old age...

:)

Everyone is mentioning they'll be bored in Hidden Hills. Their properties in the U.K have always been in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the english countryside with lots & lots of land - far more rural than Hidden Hills & the general L.A area ... Hidden Hills will be urban to them compared to Buckinghamshire!

also, you don't need a '2-3 minute Police Response' time in Hidden Hills ... It's a guard gated community - far more secure than Doheny Rd. Besides, in Beverly Hills they had their own security guys guarding the property so no need for BHPD anyway ...

They had their own Beverly Hills Police Department detail guarding the the Doheny Road house. A black and white Suburban across the street at all times.

Christina and family will be fine. It was the out of control Ozzie fans that created the environment of needing round the clock police presence.

my mom has been in this house... it has never been on the market, and the square footage is wrong. its a little over 12 thousand (the previous owner told me). it has 2 kitchens (it was originally built for a family, and the wive's aging parents). it was built in 2001 if i remember correctly, and it has been featured in many magazines. ill see if i can find out which ones so that i can get pictures.

No, Their own personal security guarded the house. They have a security team - some guard the property the others travel & protect Sharon & Ozzy. The kids choose not to have bodyguards.

Mama not the worst house we've ever seen.By the way the show was so much more fun when aired in the UK because all the f words weren't bleeped out.
Anyway I'm not here to talk about the Osbournes I want to know what happened to Louella?Did someone have a hit on her,or did she simply slip down the stairs after one too many pre luch gin & tonis, hold the tonic.
Once again the children are quivering with anticipation as we wait for more news, scandal and questionable decorating schemes from your well informed HQ.Fill us in on the Louella thing please.

Too bad there's no listing pictures to look at...that huge, curving 2-story wall of windows around the middle-back of the house looks like there's probably some really dramatic spaces inside that farmhouse design...and I agree with whoever said it was kinda Hamptons looking...

They moved from a Mediterranean pile to a Hamptons pile. What an ugly hodge-podge.

If you look closely you can see the curving stairway against the two story glass wall.

I hope that they have good window shades and A/C. It looks hot on that hill to me.

That house is even more ugly in real life, it also has (had) underground space. The property stood a looong time before it got finished.

I think they'll enjoy living here in Hidden Hills. It is "sleepy", but just out the gate you are close to everything. Not every house is 10,000+...I live in a nice "small" 4900 sf house. There are much older houses that are "only" 2500 sf. There are 3 guard gates, so they can "escape" from any of them. I haven't sween them yet, but have jogged by, and it is a nice house. Malibu is 20 minutes away. It is a great community and offers celebrities much needed privacy. Plenty of room for lots of animals to run around, and there are coyotes in BH as well. Welcom Sharon & Ozzy!
