More on 50 Cent's House

SELLER: Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent
LOCATION: 50 Poplar Hill Road, Farmington, CT
PRICE: $18,500,000
SIZE: 17.6 acres, 48,515 square feet, 19 bedrooms, 19 full and 16 half bathrooms

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Surely most of you read about the this outrageous property on one of our favorite sites RADAR or over at Big Time Listings. Your Mama had been holding out on posting anything until we had something new to add, but we can't resist the photos that have been put up on the website created to help sell the house. And one tidbit of information provided us by a gentleman named Garreth is also worth relaying to the children. Here's the reader's digest on the house which was once owned by girly voiced boxer Mike Tyson who has been banged in the head so many times he doesn't have enough sense to come in out of the rain.

The dimwitted boxer with the stoopid facial tattoos lost this house in his dee-vorce settlement when a judge decreed he must "sell" it to the ex-wife Monica for a single dollar. Ouch! Now think about that. What single lady living off spousal support from Mike Tyson wants or can afford a 52,000 square foot mansion with 19 bedrooms and nearly forty terlits? No single lady, that's who.

So Monica puts the house up on the market and low and behold in September of 2003, gangsta rapper 50 Cent, flush with new money and something to prove, buys the place for $4,100,000. The rapper, who among other things is famous for being shot full of holes out in front of his grandmother's house, claims to have spent between $3.5 and $6 million renovating the house.

But Your Mama wants to know where is all the money Fiddy claims he put into this house? Can't be in the dining room with those depressing funeral home curtains and those ridiculous and upsetting white chairs with the bull dog legs.

Or in the 3,500 square foot home disco which looks like the night club at the Holiday Inn in Minot, North Dakota. And Your Mama knows what that looks like too because we've been there. And where's the stripper pole? Y'all know Fiddy put at least one greased pole up in there for the high class Connecticut ladies to swing on and wrap themselves around.

Okay, maybe the living room has some expensive and tasteful Biedermeir like furniture, but seriously, where's all the money? We too read the story that RADAR referenced about Fiddy asking Louis Vuitton to paper the place with their logo. We thought that would be tacky until we saw this pictures of this place and realized that would actually be tasteful compared to the choices Fiddy's obviously not-gay decorator made.

In addition to the disco, movie theater, four kitchens, racquetball court, full gym, heli-pad, tennis courts, staff quarters and 5 jacuzzis, the house has what everyone needs, an indoor shooting range. Because if you're going to own a gun, it's best to be able to know how to use it, right?

The one room that makes any sense to us is the indoor swimming pool, which actually reminds Your Mama of a public pool our Mama used to take us up in Lake Tahoe. We understand that at one time this pool had Mike Tyson's initials on the bottom and we wonder if Fiddy had them removed and replaced with a dollar sign or some other symbol of wealth.

The outdoor, infinity edged pool probably cost Fiddy and arm and a leg, but in our opinion the tile was the wrong choice. That tile can be seen in just about any Home Depot sale bin. The grotto we're liking. It's not as nice as the one at the Playboy Mansion, but it works as a place for Fiddy's posse to cool off and entertain the ladies after they've slid themselves up and down the pole in the disco.

And our little friend Garreth tells us something we had not heard before..."Interestingly, for a bullet-proof-vest-sporting, bomb-proof-SUV-driving superstar, the house remains a little unsecured: a rival rapper (feuding with 50) posted videos of himself and others standing on 50's property looking at his house after accessing the grounds through the acreage in the rear."

We can only hope that Fiddy has secured the borders since then because Farmington does not need a shoot out between rival rapper gangs nor does he need bullet holes in the walls that might need to be fixed before someone buys this behemoth of a house.

Tyson's ex Monica tried to sell this house for $25,000,000 before reducing the price and finally accepting 50 Cent's $4.1 million dollar offer. So we'd be surprised if the house will go for anywhere near the $18.5 million Fiddy is asking. But good luck to him. He's got a knack for making paper, so maybe, just maybe, he'll make millions on the sale of this house.

That is about the tackiest damn thing I've ever seen. Maybe someone should buy it to turn it into some kind of resort? But not until they get a nice gay decorator up in there to de-skankify the place.

I would totally buy this place, but I would have to put some serious cash into making not look like an oversized Best Western... I look the yard with pond and the gazebo house, I like the theatre, however, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of pictures on the website... It's over 50,000 square feet! Why would they put so few pictures!! Also, let's be serious here, the place is located in Farmington, CT, extremely far, by car to commute to Boston or NYC, most people DO NOT have helicopters, so he's not going to get anywhere near $18.5 for this place, it's just not going to happen. He paid $4.1M and put at most $6m into is... so he should be asking between $11.5M and $13M, that is definitely a more realistic figure in that area considering the next highest priced house in the area is $3 Million. Also, I would change the tile in the pool... can you say eww? Also, they don't have a picture on the website, but I've seen a picture of the front gates, they look like they belong at the front of a ranch in the Wild West, very tacky. Natalee, strict zoning laws in the area will not allow a resort and they won't rezone so someone with a desire for a great amount of space will have to buy this place... I want to buy it right now. Wow, that was a crazy long post!

I've always wanted a house that was this large and offensive. No, I'm completely serious.

There is absolutely no way this place will sell for $18.5M, I think that $12M is generous for this place. His renovations don't show at all besides the pool, which is lackluster at best. Someone with serious paper needs to buy this place and make it a showplace because right now... it's not even close. I mean it's nice and by nice I mean OK, it's not in bad shape or anything, but this place has SO much potential to be a home everyone would envy. The only thing it has going for it is the size which can also be a negative. It's simply too large for 9 out of 10 buyers and the others that want the space need to have the money to upkeep this place. It's over 50,000 square feet... you have to heat, air condition, clean and maintain everything in the house not to mention the exterior... there is so much siding, roofing, gutters, the windows, the pool, that pond, the lawn... it's a lot of work to do all of that and while some people have the money to do it, a lot of them don't want a house that requires that much upkeep, you obviously can't do it all yourself unless you have no job and a LOT of energy... that's a lot of bathrooms to keep clean... Anyway, i will take it.

How does this guy expect to get such a high price for this place? Let's crunch the numbers. He paid $4.1M (a steal at that price) in 2003 and invested anywhere from $3.5M - $6M, meaning his total investment is $10.1M maximum, that means he wants to net $8.4M in less than 4 years? Insanity, I think the value of this place hovers between $9M and $10.5 M because if he did put $6M into the place, that's fine, if you're going to stay for a long time but, I think he over invested into the place and is turning it around too quickly to earn a profit and I definitely see a price chop in the near future, in fact, I see multiple price chops. Does anyone know what the taxes are on this place or have a idea of what they might be??

This is your funniest post yet! You crack me up! You are very witty and a wonderful writer. I agree that this is a totally tacky mansion.

50 house is not tacky, his house is nice and thats why its his house not yours, he can decorate it how he wants, nobody should have anything to say about his house. if you a hater then hate, if you a congratulator then congratulate. 50 yo shit is very beautiful, the Drapes to.!! Maybe its not a nice house to the haters because he BLACK! (HMMMMM)!!!!
keep doing you that 50

Ken Doll said...

Because he's black? Please.

Bad taste has nothing to do with the color of one's skin. There are plenty of posts on this blog about white people's houses that look like shit too.

Pulling out the race card because it's a convenient argument to stymie real discussion about really bad interior decor choices and steer it towards the color of people skin is a low and tacky blow.

If you like the curtains, great, say you like them...but don't try to tell anyone that we don't like them because 50 is black because it's insulting, unnecessarily inflammatory and designed to provoke hot heads like me into a race debate.

All I can say is that the former Mrs. Tyson (what was she thinking?) is laughing her way to the bank. If these pictures truly reflect a "renovation," I can only imagine how bad it looked before.

Personally, I think the disco is reminiscent of the Best Western in Butte, Montana. Actually, it's nicer than the Best Western in Butte, Montana.

I'm in love with house although it does need quite a few changes made to it. There is no need for the "Mini Disco/Club". I'd completely remove it. $18M is a bit much. I would however offer $10-12M max. I would like to see more images of the house just because of the fact that it sits on 17 acres of land. We only get to see about 1 bedroom out of like 50 that the entire neighborhood of Framington holds. Also, it's located in CT. Who lives there besides 50 Cent. I'd pick it up and carry that bee-otch to Old Westbury, NY, Los Angeles, CA, or Saddle River, NJ, but Farmington, CT, let's get real.

how can you hate on this house, say its tacky but you know you would live there. I'd give a nut to spend a week in the house with the man.

Anonymous said...

That's funny how you would buy this house for 10-12mil max and say you would move it to Wb, NY or LA, CA....that house would sell for about 20-30 mil in those STATES alone, not to mention how much it would cost in those cities...Even if everyone thinks its not that nice. Being from Orange County and living in a house that's close to a mil., you dont get much for it.

I see many bloggers hating on CT that probably have never been in CT. I introduced Mike Tyson to CT when I met him at Bentley's in NYC shortly after he was dethroned. Mike had never been to CT but was sold on what I schooled him on: It is a 1hr 20min drive to NYC, 2 1/2 hour drive to Boston and 4hr drive to Catskill, NY. CT is convenient for those that love both the fast pace of the city while being able to go into seclusion and true relaxation to get away from the fast pace. Some notable residents: Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, Oprah's b.f.f. Gayle King, Ray Allen, Marcus Camby, Paul Newman, David Letterman are just a few. Notable celeberties that came from CT: Brandon and Brian of Jagged Edge, Dwight Freeney, Marcus Camby, Bernard Jackson of the 80's & 90's R&B group Surface are just a few. Please keep in mind notable UCONN alumni holding their own in the NBA and WNBA: Cliff Robinson, Doneyell Marshall, Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton, Caron Butler, Nykesha Sales, Dianna Taurasi, Sue Bird just to name a few. Don't hate what you don't know about.

It is unfortunate and embarassing.
It is just sad that people hate to see a young black man do his thing.

THE HOUSE IS THE BOMB!

Everyone on this website needs to take a training session on CLASS!

Connie Francis said...

Oh please. How completely and ridiculously childish to play the race card like that. This house is tacky and vulgar regardless of the color of the owner's skin.

The first thing is this 50 cent is a superstar rapper you think he designed his house he had people he paid to do that. He might have had the last approval on it. But lets be forreal its a big nice house i dont like the outside color and a few things but its still a very nice house. 90 percent of people who buy houses off of people rearrange it so whats the big deal. Could it be that your a hater or what why keep making a big deal about it you probably cant buy the house anyway

Thats how I roll, 50 I dig your crib in CT, you need to add a picasso on the wall and a vintage Ferrari in your collection, other then that 50 keep up the great work

Heita 50. I'm from South Africa and I feel I have to mention that our stars live posh & luxurious lives but you, never mind. I am a music producer from Guguletu Cape Town & the life you are living now is my ultimate dream. Maybe wont be quite exactly as yours but I'm heading there. I want to talk about your house for a minute. I have just read most of the comments on this cite, some ridiculous & some racially-stupid. It would be great if you yourself could say who helped you renovate your 'small-hotel'. I'm 25 this year and if I had to buy a mansion at this age it would probably look like yours. Young yet classy! Oh, people please!!! A house, race??? Are you kidding me!! Stop the nonsense! By the way Curtis how do I get a South African beat all the way to your shores? I am dead serious. Scott Storch has got nothing on me!!! If Dre would hear me produce he would ask me to carry on his Aftermath legacy after he's gone. But otherwise your music is great, I'm a fan. You are perfection I guese. Moja mpintshi yam, hizo lezo (Take care & keep it up). I chose to be annonymous on the blog, f**k it. My name is Mtezman, the call me Gugz.KING.Produer

I'm black and I would like to know something. All the black people that keep saying the posters here are jealous because 50 cents is black, how do you figure that? I think that is a very silly and paranoid argument. So white people have to like a house if it's own by a black man? Wow...

The house is pretty cool. But here's what I think. I think it's disgusting that a thug rapper can live so large when there's starving children in the world. I think movie stars, rappers, sports stars whatever should give a little back. I know some do, but if they all did maybe there would be less starving children in the world!

Regardless of how anyone feels about 50 CENTS HOME...Again, 50 CENTS HOME, NOT YOUR HOME! It's PROPERTY! The American Dream...Owning Property and He Did it! Everybody wants a 'Piece of the pie in the sky' and 50 is also enjoying 'Sound Groud while he is around'. I wonder how many of the people who are hating on 50 could afford to purchase a home for $300K, let alone $4.1 million dollars and still buy groceries too...Yeah, I thought so! Shut the heck up and let this amazing, talented 'Man' enjoy 'HIS' blessings. If he wants to buy furniture from IKEA to decorate, "HIS HOME" HE CAN! and OPPS! I forgot to mention....he doesn't have a mortgage like most of us, HE PAID CASH! HaHaHa, HaHaHa....not take that to the BANK! Haters!

My modest 4,500 sq ft home is directly across the street from 50.

As far as a neighbor, he was always very quiet and respectful.

I hope the next neighbor will be as good.

R U SERIOUS SOOO NOW RANDOM PEOPLE WHO LIVE ON WAYYY LESS PAY THAN 50 (NOT FIDDY) ARE PLAYING TRADING SPACES AND COMMENTING ON THE INTERIOR DESIGN OF HIS HOME! PLEASE IM QUITE SURE IF HALF THE PEOPLE WHO HATED HIS HOUSE HAD IT THEY WOULD REDECORATE IT IN SOME "CHIC" PINK OLD RUSTED WHITE BACK CHAIR CRAP! LET THE MAN DECORATE HIS HOME THE WAY HE WANTS TO AFTER ALL HE PAYED UP THE $$ FOR IT NOT ANYONE OF US! SO IMA GIVE PROPS TO MY BOY 50!

Anonymous said...

my uncle was looking at buying the house he went up and met 50 cent,he was willing to pay 12 million but 50 was not lowering the price tag.

Anonymous said...

I've been in a $20,000,000 in upper saddle river, new jersey. It has half as much land as fiddy's, the house is almost the same size (maybe a little smaller), and it doesn't have a studio. Although it has a sick ass basement. The guy who owns the house owns all the kfc's, burgerkings, and all of some other resturaunts in Russia. In my opinion $18.5 mill is a reasonalble price if the house was in a richer and better area. I mean a house with half as much stuff sold for 20mil but it was in saddle river nj.
